If someone told you one of the world's biggest esports championships was coming to North Texas and asked you to guess the host city, would you say Allen?
You should.
The 2026 League of Legends World Championship is being staged across just three U.S. cities:
Los Angeles.
Allen.
Brooklyn.
And Allen isn't getting one exhibition match.
The Credit Union of Texas Event Center will host the Swiss Stage, Quarterfinals and Semifinals from October 23 through November 8, making Allen the competitive center of Worlds for more than two weeks. LoL Esports
The Grand Final then moves to Brooklyn on November 14.
Even if you've never played League of Legends, this is a fascinating North Texas story.
Because it says something about what Allen has become.
When Is League of Legends Worlds in Allen?
Here's the Texas schedule currently published by the event and venue:
Stage | Allen dates |
|---|---|
Swiss Stage | Oct. 23–26 |
Swiss Stage | Oct. 28–31 |
Quarterfinals | Nov. 3–6 |
Semifinals | Nov. 7–8 |
Riot's updated broadcast schedule currently lists starts at 12 PM CDT October 23–26, 3 PM CDT October 28–30 and noon CDT October 31. Quarterfinal and semifinal broadcasts beginning November 3 are scheduled for 4 PM CST. LoL Esports
Because event schedules can change, I'd check the official schedule before heading out.
Where Is Worlds 2026 in Allen?
The Texas portion takes place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center at 200 E. Stacy Road in Allen.
The venue says thousands of fans are expected to travel to North Texas and notes that dining, entertainment and accommodations are available around the arena. Credit Union of Texas Event Center
That's important because this isn't simply a televised event happening behind closed doors.
For more than two weeks, international teams, fans and media will be coming to Allen, Texas.
Why Is Allen Hosting Something This Big?
This is the part that interests me as a local Realtor.
Allen is sometimes overshadowed in relocation conversations by the extraordinary amount of publicity surrounding Frisco and McKinney.
Frisco has the Dallas Cowboys, PGA Frisco and huge mixed-use developments.
McKinney has its historic square, major new development and continued growth.
Allen doesn't always generate the same national headlines.
And then something like this happens.
One of the world's major esports championships chooses Allen as its primary Texas venue.
In announcing the event, the venue called it an opportunity to introduce Allen to an international audience. Credit Union of Texas Event Center
That's a very different story from simply saying Allen is another Dallas suburb.
What Is League of Legends Worlds?
If esports isn't your world, here's the simplest explanation.
The League of Legends World Championship is the season-ending international championship for the competitive video game League of Legends.
Teams from around the world qualify to compete, with the tournament progressively eliminating teams until two remain for the World Championship Final.
This year's tournament begins with Play-Ins in Los Angeles October 15–18.
Then the tournament comes to Allen.
The Swiss Stage narrows the field.
Allen then hosts the Quarterfinals.
Then the Semifinals.
Only after those matches determine the final two teams does the tournament leave Texas for the championship in Brooklyn on November 14. LoL Esports
In other words:
Allen isn't hosting the warm-up.
It's hosting the road to the Final.
Can You Buy Tickets?
Yes. Tickets are currently on sale for at least some Allen sessions through the venue, including the November 7 and November 8 Semifinals. Credit Union of Texas Event Center
I would use only the official tournament or venue ticket links rather than resale links whenever possible.

What Should Visitors Know Before Going?
Riot has already published venue-specific policies for Allen covering:
- bags;
- cameras and recording;
- cosplay and props;
- signs and banners;
- re-entry;
- prohibited items. LoL Esports
This is particularly worth checking if you're attending in costume or bringing camera equipment.
Don't assume the rules for a typical arena event automatically apply to Worlds.
What Does an International Event Have to Do With Living in Allen?
Quite a lot, actually.
When I'm helping someone relocate to North Texas, there's a tendency to reduce cities to a few statistics:
Median home price.
Commute.
Schools.
Property taxes.
Those things matter.
But they don't tell you what a city feels like or what is happening around it.
Allen now has a venue capable of attracting an event whose other 2026 host cities are Los Angeles and New York.
That contributes to restaurants.
Hotels.
Entertainment.
Visitor traffic.
Local visibility.
And the range of things residents can experience without driving into Dallas.
That's part of the lifestyle equation too.
Allen Is Also an Interesting Housing Market Right Now
This event arrives during an unusual period for Allen real estate.
Earlier this year I looked at something that doesn't fit the simple housing-market rule most people learn:
Allen home prices were falling while inventory was falling too.
In Q2 2026, Allen's median sale price was down 3.6% year over year to $505,000, while price per square foot fell 5.3%. Michelle Gifford Realtor
The important distinction is that Allen doesn't have the enormous pipeline of new builder inventory found in some communities farther north.
Most buyers here are shopping established resale neighborhoods.
That changes how I analyze the market.
If you're selling, I don't want to look only at the houses that sold.
I also want to see the listings that expired or were cancelled.
A sold property shows us a price the market accepted.
An expired or cancelled listing may help show us a price the market rejected.
That's valuable information when homes aren't selling simply because a sign went in the yard.
For the full Allen market analysis:
Allen's Home Prices Are Falling. So Is the Inventory. Here's What That Actually Means.
Is Allen Worth Considering if You're Moving to North Texas?
Absolutely worth considering.
That doesn't mean it's right for everyone.
Someone who wants massive amounts of brand-new construction may look farther north.
Someone who wants an established North Texas suburb with existing neighborhoods, shopping, restaurants, parks and access to US-75 may evaluate Allen very differently.
And now we can add something else to the list:
A city capable of hosting a global esports championship for more than two weeks.
That's not something I would have predicted about Allen years ago.
It's exactly why local context matters.

About Michelle
I'm a lifelong North Texan and have called McKinney home since 1998. Watching places like Allen evolve is one of the reasons I enjoy creating these local guides.
North Texas isn't simply a collection of interchangeable suburbs.
Each community is developing its own identity, housing market and lifestyle.
And if you're considering making a move here, I want you to understand the place you're choosing—not just the house.
